The Climate Restorers
Carbon removal and the built environment
Hi Suneeta and Michael,

Please see attached, an assembly of the recording we put together with you at your home, It seemed easier to share a rough edit with you rather than describe what I was hoping to achieve.. The video is unlisted, and this page isn't viewable by the public. However, you can use it to show this to your board.

The sequence I've edited is around 4 minutes in length. If your board is in agreement, it would form part of an hour-long film on carbon removal and the built environment as episode 4 of The Climate Restorers.

The sequence is a "rough cut": it doesn't have any titles, credits, animations, hasn't been color graded or audio mixed.

Suneeta, you asked that you not be featured in the sequence, but since I felt you had some really important points, I have included them here. Take a look at what I included of you. If you're not happy with it, I'll of course remove it.

In terms of the content of the sequence, the technical information around what makes hemp a carbon neutral or negative building material is important. But we also focus on governance, equity and inclusion. As is mentioned in the series, the people most affected by climate change are the ones with the least say in how it should be addressed. So your messages of empowerment align with the series. Your workshop addresses these issues in a way that I think is really accessible to the wider public, and especially to people who look for ways to be tangibly involved in solutions.

The series is self-funded: we have received no funds from anyone - not companies or organizations featured in the series, nor have we paid anyone to appear, The series will eventually be broadcast and streamed, but meanwhile we are giving free educational public screenings and are being invited to present at various film festivals. Two of the films, Blue Carbon and Methane, episodes 3 and 1, will be screened at Doctober in Bellingham the month after next.

If we're able to come to an agreement, with your featured sequence, the sequence will be made available for you to use to promote your organization or workshops. The longer interviews will also be available for you to use. (We only used a small series of extracts from the interviews.)

Below the film are some other sequences from the series to give you more context.
