Loving dinosaurs, evolution and civilization-shifting films? The Climate Restorers film 4 - Ecosystem Restoration - will be screening at Oxford's inaugural The Nature Festival this month, on 27 June (see Screenings).   This will be a lively and diverse week-long programme of free events - on 27 June at Oxford's most wonderful Natural History Museum.  Join us there at 2:15-3:05 pm Oxford time, with informal discussions on the future of humanity afterwards!

Our screening in Petaluma, California today featured the confident and accomplished voices of young Napa Valley student climate strategy leaders (Sophie Wassef, Arya Adhye and Claire Mulligan.  These students and their mentor, the  remarkable Jim Wilson, have achieved policy and legislative successes in California and, even in difficult times, national Congress.  Today's screening at the Polly Klaas Theatre featured our fourth and final film, Ecosystem Restoration.  Thanks especially to hosts Carol and Jeff England!​​

During the EarthX 2025 Congress of Conferences in Dallas, Texas, The Way Out host Jurriaan Kamp interviewed The Climate Restorers director-producer John Bowey and co-producer Phoebe Barnard in front of a lively warm audience. Jurriaan probed the work we do as a filmmaker/ scientist couple, how we developed the series, and what the unusual "climate cooling barcode" means on the  T-shirt which John wears.  We spoke about how to hold better, more unifying conversations about the climate. Thanks a lot, Jurriaan!  

At the Climate Restoration Summit at the EarthX 2025 Congress of Conferences in Dallas, Texas this past week, director-producer John Bowey addressed the audience on how we can start better conversations about the climate to depolarize the way we think about our climate, our planet, and ourselves.  We thank Carole Douglis, Marcus Cooper, Julia Dederer, Ashley Meeky and Peter Fiekowsky for organizing the summit, and our partners at EarthX, the CO2 Foundation, and private donors for supporting our work. 

Our co-producers of the series, EarthX Media are launching our US broadcast première this week - coinciding with the EarthX 2025 Congress of Conferences in Dallas, Texas. See here for the broadcast schedule and cable options, which are updated weekly.  The series will thereafter be broadcast on TV on other continents - watch this space for details!

We screened the second documentary in our series, Blue Carbon at the global Ocean Visions Summit in Vancouver, Canada - "an exceptional opportunity to advance sharing of knowledge and solutions to critical challenges at the ocean-climate nexus." Global and local scientists, policymakers, innovators, funders, and others converged at the summit to explore solutions and strengthen partnerships to stabilize the oceans and climate. Previously contrary scientists exchanged hugs...

The Climate Restorers is slated to premiere on EarthX TV during Earth Week.

• 'Methane' provisionally airs 21 April at 9pm ET

• 'Blue Carbon' provisionally airs Earth Day, 22nd, 9pm ET

Both films repeat the next week, and 'The Built Environment' and 'Ecosystem Restoration' thereafter. See schedule

We toured the Salish Sea in January co-hosting with venerable community leader organizations our film Blue Carbon - in Anacortes, Langley, and Port Townsend, Washington State, including lively audiences at the Global Earth Repair Film Festival and The Clyde Theatre. 

It's incredibly heartening to see positive audiences of all ages determined to take back their agency to improve our climate and try to reverse dangerous climate heating.

We took the opportunity of the world's biggest global conference on accelerating nature-based solutions in the beautiful Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls) to screen film 1, Methane, to global ecosystem restoration experts convening in Zambia. We thank the Global Evergreening Alliance for hosting the conference and Rob de Laet, Cécile Ndjebet and Jon Schull for their assistance.

We held a great closed legislative screening of our first film, Methane, and a Q&A session for Washington State legislators and their staff - hosted by our own climate and societal champion Senator Liz Lovelett, and attended by the then Senate President Pro Tempore.

Our crew departs for Alaska, California, the UK, France and Germany in the first season of filming for The Climate Restorers, facing man-eating mosquitoes, icy subsurface permafrost and explosive methane in their efforts to understand and document the climate's most potent planet-heating gases and how the warming of the climate is releasing vast quantities as thermokarst lakes form across the Arctic.
